Scientific Curiousity

I have always been curious about why males have nipples, but no breast. Or why we have appendix's, even though they serve no purpose. I don't understand why we have extra body parts that are unnecessary. Like why we have ripples on the outside of our ears, instead of just having holes on the side of our heads like alligators. For a while, I figured it was because the early humans used them in their body, but as their body grew and adapted, they had no more use for those organs and extra parts. I wondered why we had one big toe, the sizes shrunk until you got to the pinky. Or, the purpose of hair on peoples feet and knuckles were. I mean, some people have told me it's because evolution from the apes, but i don't believe in evolution from apes, so it's not a valid answer for me.
